No, we do not currently offer curbside cart subscriptions for weekly or biweekly single-stream collection. However, we do offer an H2R Tote service, which affords customers the ability to fill these 50-gallon totes with an assortment of common recyclables and small hard-to-recycle items for on-demand collection and tote swaps. See our Services page for more information.
After being picked up from your home or business, each recyclable item and material is transported to various consolidation points and processing facilities along the Front Range. Appliances, for example, typically go to Colorado Iron & Metal in Fort Collins. Mattresses and box springs will ultimately be received by Spring Back Colorado, in Commerce City, for materials separation and shipment to different end markets. Plastic film and bags are destined to become Trex brand composite decking. Please feel free to contact us with inquiries about the destinations of anything we collect.
For all of the positive press that recycling receives, reuse is actually the more cost-effective and environmentally friendly option. Items like finished wood furniture, upholstered furniture, and many children's toys, if in good condition, are taken to donation centers like Habitat for Humanity or Goodwill. Clothing and footwear also goes to local donation centers. Eyeglasses are donated to Lions International for distribution to those in need.
Yes, we will pick up a limited assortment of bulky trash items, such as damaged furniture. While not at the core of our mission to divert waste from landfills, we do understand that not everything can be recycled or reused. We also want to offer customers this added convenience, as we know that bulky trash items often accompany recyclables in decluttering and clean-out efforts.
