Our hours of operation at Colorado Recycles are Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm and on Saturdays from 8:00am to 12:00pm. We are closed on Sundays and major holidays.
While we are open for business and available to contact five and a half days per week, only four of those days are dedicated to regularly scheduled collections. This is because Wednesdays and Saturday mornings are spent sorting materials and transporting them to various drop-off points and processors along the Front Range. Leaving Wednesdays and Saturdays open also allows us to accommodate special projects, and to catch up on any collection delays that occurred during other parts of the week.
Our mailing address is: 1151 Eagle Dr · Box 145 · Loveland, CO 80537
No, we do not offer curbside cart subscriptions for weekly or biweekly single-stream collection. We are focused on providing junk removal and clean-up services, along with curbside collections of hard-to-recycle and bulky items. However, we'll gladly pick up pre-sorted household recyclables on an on-demand basis, so long as the order total meets the required minimum for your service area.
After being picked up from your home or business, each recyclable item and material is transported to various consolidation points or processing facilities along the Front Range. Appliances, for example, typically go to Colorado Iron & Metal in Fort Collins, or to All Recycling in Denver. Mattresses and box springs will have recyclable components, such as steel, wood, foam, and textiles removed by us or by Spring Back Colorado. Plastic films/bags are destined to become Trex brand composite decking. These are but a few of the many stops that recyclables will make on their way back to the marketplace. Please feel free to contact us with inquiries about the numerous other waste diversion channels we use.
Colorado Recycles generates little revenue from the sale of what we pick up, with scrap metal being a small exception. Many of the items we collect are of no monetary value to us and, in several cases, actually cost us money through material processing fees and environmental surcharges. Instead, our business is sustained primarily by our service fees.
For all of the positive press that recycling receives, reuse and repurposing are actually the more cost-effective and environmentally friendly options. Items like finished wood furniture, upholstered furniture, and many children's toys, if in good condition, are taken to donation centers like Habitat for Humanity, Arc, or Goodwill. Clothing and footwear also goes to local donation centers. Eyeglasses are donated to Lions International for distribution to those in need.
Yes, we will pick up just about anything that isn't hazardous or growling at us. While we place a great deal of emphasis on diverting waste from landfills, we understand that not everything can be recycled, reused, or repurposed. We want to offer customers a full range of junk removal services.
